Our member, Glynne Williams, putting the organ at Chelsea Old Church through its paces!
We are delighted to confer honorary life membership on Philip Norman in recognition of his immense contribution to our organ society and the wider organ community in the UK.
Committee member, Takuya Yorita, playing the organ of St. Mellitus Church, Tollington Park, during our recent visit to see the restored Alfred Hunter & Son organ built in 1920 in memory of the men from the North London parish who served in the First World War.
Committee member, Chris South, who arranged our visit to St Stephen Walbrook. It was our first lunchtime event and it worked really well. A lovely organ, really friendly hosts and a beautiful church.
Committee member, Eric Bradley, is one of several members who have given a little time to demonstrate the organ at London Bridge station. Following the success of pianos on concourses, this is the first organ in the UK to be placed on a station concourse and made available to everyone to play. It was installed by Martin Renshaw, organ restorer and founder of the charity Pipe Up for Pipe Organs. If you would like to play, the organ is open to the public as long as the station is open… it’s a great way to encourage greater interest in our instrument.
Our chairman, Mark James, putting the Wurlitzer through its paces during our visit to the Musical Museum, Kew Bridge.
